Laser dentistry plays an integral role in our practice, especially in our endodontic microsurgery center. This technology helps our endodontists with aspects such as diagnosis, access preparation, pulpotomy, uncovering calcified and hidden canals, surgery, canal cleaning, shaping, and disinfection.
There are many oral healthcare professionals that believe complete sterilization of the root canal is impossible. But by offering laser endodontics in White Plains, Mount Kisco and Suffern, NY, we can reach bacteria found deep in a tooth’s structure. This helps us avoid extraction and treat teeth that may not have been saved otherwise.
We use the WaterLase® laser to treat a variety of endodontic conditions, including:
- Complete disinfection of the tooth after endodontic treatment
- Tooth preparation (to obtain access to the root canal)
- Root canal preparation
- Root canal debridement and cleaning
- Apicoectomy
- Removal of pathological issues (i.e.: cysts, neoplasm or abscess)

We are also pleased to offer Low Level Laser Therapy to all of our patients! Following dental procedures, Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), also known as Photobiomodulation, reduces inflammation in the affected areas, helping to reduce pain and allowing tissue to heal more quickly. LLLT leads to significant reduction of inflammation equal to or better than NSAIDs within 2 hours, significant reduction in healing time, and analgesic effects that last for 48 hours, often eliminating the need for drugs altogether.
LLLT treatment improves tissue repair, reduces pain and inflammation wherever the beam is applied. Treatments take only a few minutes and can be applied two or more times a week.
